ALS Video of "Growing in Grace"
We are before God about getting a video version of "Growing in Grace" done in American Sign Language for our Deaf brothers and sisters in Christ. We believe that good Bible based materials for the Deaf in their true heart language (ASL) are ridiculously SCARCE. This needs to change.
Please pray with us that the Lord will provide enthused native ASL speakers and a good videographer to make this happen, and that He would bring in whatever funds are needed. For a description an
Expressions of Love
Grief seems so easy to chart and admonish and pontificate on.
Until YOU are the one swept into the maelstrom of severe loss.
I agree with Melanie that it seldom fits the neat and tidy model of the bestselling books. Thank you SO very much, dearest friends, for all your loving expressions and prayers over the past few days.
You have been a wonderful encouragement https://thelifeididntchoose.com/2018/06/25/no-straight-lines-in-grief/
Contentment
"Contentment is not the fulfillment of what we want, but the realization of all we have . . . IN CHRIST" (Psalm 23:1; Ephesians 1:3; Hebrews 13:5).
-- Miles J. Stanford
The Eternal has Allowed
In the midst of heaviest "sorrow upon sorrow" (Phil. 2:27), our personal tragedy can never, ever be catastrophic, because there are no "second causes;" the Eternal I Am has allowed this, and He will use it in bringing about His Eternal Glory and Good (Romans 8:28-30; Psalm 76:10).
God, and no other, is "in charge of the drama of my life."
He "is in His holy Temple; let all the earth keep silence before Him" (Habakkuk 2:20). [I'll be the first to admit Keith's doctrine wasn'
How Deeply I've Loved You, Wivs
It was near the end of our month with Danika, Jared and our brand new grandson. We were spending the day with a couple half-way between Lynchburg and their home near D.C. We had high hopes for this rendezvous, but for unspoken reasons we believed we were going into the very thick of spiritual warfare. We had so wanted Levi to come with us to Virginia, but he was waiting to start a new job at Starbucks. He had not yet met his two month-old nephew, Elliot, whom he nicknamed El

Speak Truth
Saw this quoted on the spasmodic dysphonia support group FB page. Can’t stop loving it.
Would just make one small change.
Trade the words “your mind” for “the Truth.”
When people with s.d. talk about shaking voices, it’s no figure of speech.

"Code Blue: Deaf are Unreached"
From the website SBCDeaf.org: Realities of our Deaf world today:
– Over 1500 Deaf people die every single day. These Deaf are plunged into a dark Christless eternity. – The Deaf People worldwide are not only unengaged and unreached, but have had totally no access to the Word of God. They live in cities where there is no Deaf church. – A handful of SBC missionaries are working hard to share the gospel and plant churches among Deaf who have been virtually unaware of the gospel
Being Real
Friends tell us they appreciate our "being real" on FB and, frankly, I appreciate the opportunity. It seems to help me process, and I genuinely hope to be a TRUE help and encouragement (rather than a false hope) to others who are now grieving, or may someday traverse these bloodstained battlegrounds for themselves.
That said, let me tell you that while we may appear to have it all together at times in our posts, we have been two deer caught in the headlights for the entire p
Daytime Lovingkindness - Nighttime Songs
Yet the LORD will command his lovingkindness in the daytime, and in the night his song shall be with me, and my prayers unto the God of my life. (Psalm 42:8) "The strength of the vessel can be demonstrated only through the hurricane, and the power of the Gospel can be fully shown only when the Christian is subjected to fiery trial. If God would make manifest the fact that "He giveth songs in the night," He must first make it night." -- William Taylor (Selected from "Streams i
Beautiful Words
Deeply touched by these beautiful words written in honor of Father's Day by our beloved friend and ASL tutor, Beckley (the fastest signer I know!), who is deaf from infancy and was abandoned by both parents.
Had to share with you: "Let me tell about My dad... he is no longer interesting in me as his daughter since I was growing up... I don’t know why is that... but I always love him and already forgive him for don’t want to raise me. I know he have a good life with his wife,
