I think sometimes we have the idea that "courage" and "bravery" refer to people who don't experience fear to the same degree as the rest of us "regular" folks. And it is that LACK of fear that enables them to do these remarkable things that most "normal" people would never do.


Quite the contrary. I think it makes "courage" a far more noble thing that the people who possess it DO experience fear just like everyone else. They are the ones who are going forward, doing what so many others won't do, but what they so strongly believe is right, when every fiber in their body may be screaming to them, "I hate this! Get me out of here right now, you crazy person!"


And that is what I'm referring to when I say that my daughter, Carissa Joy, is one of the most courageous persons I know.
